Configure Windows Firewall

nutraCoster Setup automatically configures Windows Firewall. Use these instructions to manually configure Windows Firewall if necessary.

  1. Check Windows Firewall Inbound Rules.
    • In Control Panel, open Windows Firewall.
    • Click Advanced Settings.
    • Under Windows Firewall with Advanced Security on Local Computer, click Inbound Rules.
    • If you don't see SWEETWAREDATA Open Sql Server Browser TCP Port, you must create a new rule for it - see Step 2.
    • If you don't see SWEETWAREDATA Open Sql Server Browser UDP Port, you must create a new rule for it - see Step 3.

  2. Create an Inbound Rule for TCP Port.
    • Under Actions, click New Rule...
    • In the New Inbound Rule Wizard for Rule Type, select Port. Click Next. Rule Type

    • In Protocol and Ports, select TCP. Click Specific local ports and enter 50001. Click Next. Port Type TCP

    • In Action, click Allow the connection. Click Next.
    • In Profile, select Domain and Private. If Public is selected, unselect it. Click Next.
    • In Name, name your inbound rule "SWEETWAREDATA Open Sql Server Browser TCP Port." Click Finish. Name TCP Port

  3. Create an Inbound Rule for UDP Port.
    • Under Actions, click New Rule...
    • In the New Inbound Rule Wizard for Rule Type, select Port. Click Next. Rule Type

    • In Protocol and Ports, select UDP. Click Specific local ports and enter 1434. Click Next. Port Type UDP

    • In Action, click Allow the connection. Click Next.
    • In Profile, select Domain and Private. If Public is selected, unselect it. Click Next.
    • In Name, name your inbound rule "SWEETWAREDATA Open Sql Server Browser UDP Port." Click Finish. Name UDP Port
